ATLANTA, June 22, 2009 – RelayHealth, a leading provider of healthcare connectivity services, today announced a strategic partnership with Minneapolis-based Lighthouse1, a consumer driven healthcare (CDH) administration software solutions innovator. Together, RelayHealth and Lighthouse1 plan to help providers automate payments for patients who have healthcare spending accounts and CDH plans.
Lighthouse1 will integrate RelayHealth’s EasyCDH™, a solution that removes paper and debit card program challenges, with Lighthouse1 OnDemand™, their financial administration platform, to create Lighthouse1 OneCard™. A Software-as-a-Service based solution, Lighthouse1 OneCard is designed to help consumers avoid out-of-pocket expenses and eliminate required paper verification and mailing of receipts for medical and prescription purchases. It also gives employers the opportunity to expand their CDH benefit programs to help their employees better manage their own healthcare costs and to simplify the payment process by eliminating confusing paper transactions.
“Moving to a paperless environment through Lighthouse1 OneCard’s archived receipt documentation and auto-payment is a significant step in achieving fully automated healthcare administration,” said Jeff Felton, president, RelayHealth Pharmacy Solutions. “Lighthouse1 offers a unique solution that connects its third-party administrator and employer partners seamlessly to EasyCDH to access flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts and health reimbursement arrangements. This partnership positions both organizations as experienced innovators that are expanding their solutions to support the dynamic CDH transformation.”
When third-party administrators, financial institutions and health plans connect with RelayHealth and Lighthouse1, the Lighthouse1 OneCard solution facilitates automatic reimbursement of a patient’s deductible, co-pay or coinsurance amount directly from their CDH spending account to a doctor, hospital or pharmacy. The solution substantiates FSA and HRA transactions at the point of service. It also handles the entire payment transmission, eliminating consumer out-of-pocket expenses. As a result providers can reduce their billing and payment collection time and costs.
“Lighthouse1’s goal is to empower consumers to better manage their new healthcare financial responsibilities, and our newly automated payment functionality creates a seamless consumer healthcare experience,” said Jeff Young, chief executive officer, Lighthouse1. “We are excited to team with healthcare connectivity leader RelayHealth to broaden our portfolio of CDH payment solutions to improve healthcare financial management.”
